TRISTAN

Tristan Valkenburg is a Dutch film actor based in Amsterdam, with prominent roots in theater. He started at a young age, and is currently snowballing his way up the industry ladder.

Growing up, in addition to lesser known companies, he performed with International Theatre Amsterdam, twice. This laid the foundation for the rest of his career.

These days, he works in film - professional and indie sets alike - and continues live performing at his job in The Amsterdam Dungeon. He recently won Best Acting Leading Role at 48HFP Eindhoven 2025 for his performance in his self-written film Kenosis.

He is trained and experienced in his craft and has affinity with Meisner acting. He was accepted into Ma Filmactors Academy, but decided to drop out after a half year to allow himself to prioritize field work instead - no regrets. Acting courses at Mulholland and De Toneelmeester help keep his tools sharpened.

Kenosis 48hfp film still - Tristan Valkenburg as Quin the pathological liar

Kenosis link icon

This role won me Best Actor Leading Role at 48HFP Eindhoven 2025. The judges called it a performance with a LOT of layers, not just emotionally, but also morally, well dosed and with correct intensity.

Sleepers S3 link icon

Bloodbound film still - Tristan Valkenburg as The Prince

Civvie - in production link icon

Scheduled to premiere this september. Directed by Ewan Macbeth and shot by Gouden Kalf winner Emo Weemhoff. They loved my performance, seriously, ask them.

Portraits taken right after buzzing my hair for CIVVIE. Strong Willem Dafoe influence.

After buzzing my hair for CIVVIE, I had these Willem Dafoe inspired portraits taken.

De Beproeving van Neptunus film still - Tristan Valkenburg as Sep, a young, insecure, wannabe boy scout

De Beproevinglink icon

This role got me a Best Actor nomination at 48HFP Arnhem 2026. Can't win 'em all, but we're on for Utrecht:)

Monkey Mind film still - Tristan Valkenburg as Mika, a young man in ape therapy

Monkey Mind link icon

A family drama where "monkey therapy" (yes, acting like monkeys) surfaces a new family hierarchy. Lots of physical acting - best monkey in town.

If Only I were film still - Tristan valkenburg as a delusional writer

If Only I Were link icon

A six-minute one take monologue about a writer losing his grip on reality. Good watch.

Coca Cola Spec ad still - Tristan valkenburg as the main character accompanied by his friends

Coca Colalink icon

A Coca Cola Spec Ad - not a real ad - for portfolio purposes. It shows my abilities for slick, stylized performance often looked for in commercial work.

Holloways Taxidermy film still - Tristan valkenburg as a young squire bossed around by Mark Ryan

A period film shot in Archeon. I played a young squire bossed around by Mark Ryan - the guy who voiced Bumblebee in Transformers.

Bloodbound link icon

Music video for Dronken - Jesse Hoefnagels x Wally. Fun shoot and solid visuals, even the song is a banger.

FOLD film still - Tristan valkenburg as a raging lunatic fighter

Fold link icon

A grungy, off-beat boxing film made for 48HFP Rotterdam 2025. My experience kickboxing helped a lot here.

Jagerslust film still - Tristan valkenburg as the Nixie creature, towering over a desperate father and daughter

Jagerslust link icon

In this fantasy drama I portrayed a Gollumn-like "Nixie". My physicality and interpretive dance breathed life into this abstract, faceless, magical being.

Peinzer film still - Tristan valkenburg as a grieving young man losing his grip on reality, Bartek

Peinzerlink icon

Grungy, freakish, dark drama about a young man trying to escape grief and losing himself asking "what is true?"

Ontspoortlink icon

HKU friends of mine called me up for this 48H. A mockumentary about a delusional miniature train enthusiast.

Not my proudest credit, but it's worth a mention.
